Fana: The World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered laboratory kits to Iran to perform more than 67,500 ELISA tests to identify and measure the COVID-19 antibody. The kits, donated by the Robert Koch Institute in Germany, will be used for research and screening purposes in the country.
Some of the kits were delivered to the National Blood Transfusion Organization of Iran on the recommendation of the Seroepidemiology Working Group of the Ministry of Health to be used to evaluate the quality of donated plasmas. A number of kits were delivered to the Pasteur Institute of Iran and also to the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Research Center at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences for research on the safety of sensitive populations and to evaluate the quality of domestically produced kits to investigate the prevalence of COVID-19 among children. The rest of the kits are stored in the warehouse of the National Blood Transfusion Organization to be distributed according to the decisions of the committee.
