The regional meeting on the accreditation of medical education was held with the presence of representatives of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME), the deputy minister of education of the Ministry of Health, the secretary of the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Education, the presidents of some medical sciences universities in the region, and the main topics discussed were as follows.
_ The presence of 22,000 academic staff members and more than 250,000 students in seventy universities and faculties of medical sciences
Paying attention to the formulation of teaching and learning policies and the quality of education
_ Guaranteeing the quality of education by specifying our missions in the education system
_ Increasing the capacity of accepting students in medical fields based on the framework and providing its financial and infrastructure resources
The implementation of the system of recruiting and promoting faculty members should be based on guaranteeing the quality of education
Ensuring the quality of education by responding to the government to provide funding, responding to people to meet health needs, and responding to professors and students to meet their educational needs.
The integration of medical education in the health system is one of the valuable achievements of the Islamic Revolution in 1364, and in 2006, the first standard program for the accreditation of general medicine was implemented.
